The Yamaha FG820 is a folk acoustic guitar inspired by the models that marked the music of the 60s, built with the most modern manufacturing processes.
Introduced in 1966, Yamaha's FG series proved that great musicians could compose timeless music in an affordable instrument. This set of guitars were excellent to play, had great build quality, exceptional sound, and brought to life folk classics that still endure today.
50 years later, Yamaha uses the same ingredients, flawlessly blended and cooked using modern manufacturing techniques, to provide guitarists with an instrument designed to take their music even further.
The Yamaha FG820 is perfect for the musician who needs to have a guitar at hand that he can trust to compose or perform his songs, thanks to its rich and inspiring sound.
The Yamaha FG820 has a Traditional Western format that allows for a larger soundboard, for higher volume and a fuller sound without losing definition. The timbre is rich, with a variety of frequencies that give more consistency to its musicality.
The choice of materials also helps to increase its acoustic potential. The body is in solid spruce, the back and sides are in mahogany, two very resistant woods with great resonance for a louder and stronger sound.
The top has supports designed according to the latest acoustic research, with misaligned strips, creating a structure that maintains the stability of the top while helping to produce more and better sound.
The neck is in nato, a very dense, resistant and durable wood, of great aesthetic value thanks to the natural veins. The fretboard is in rosewood or walnut, two very resistant woods that remain free of marks and scratches caused by intensive and prolonged use. The bridge is also made of these materials, which provide greater support for each note.
Natural looking, the Yamaha FG820 follows the traditional style of folk guitars that it helped to define. It is a unique instrument, anchored in a long musical tradition that we all recognize.
The Yamaha FG820 is an acoustic guitar that brings the classic folk sound of the 60s to modern times, faithfully and genuinely.
