Description

The Artimúsica cavaquinho CV50C is a Brazilian cavaquinho of great quality of sound and construction, and full of tropical spirit to put all "a sambar". Made in Portugal.

Artimúsica demonstrates all its knowledge in the manufacture of traditional stringed instruments with this Brazilian cavaquinho, brother of our traditional cavaquinho, but played here and abroad in sambas and choros.

Made with selected woods, the top is in solid cedar and the back and sides are in solid walnut. The neck is in mahogany and the panga panga fretboard, a wood resistant to intensive and prolonged use. It has more frets than the traditional cavaquinho for more virtuous executions.

The decoration of the Artimúsica CV50C uses the characteristics of the woods, giving it a natural and organic air. The wide mouth is decorated with a discreet motif and the body has a line that accentuates the cut. The finish can be glossy or matte. The chimes are nickel plated.

The resonance box of the Brazilian cavaquinho is a little bigger and deeper than the Portuguese cavaquinho, and the scale is not aligned by the soundboard. Another difference is that the arm has more than 12 frets. It resembles a classic miniature guitar, by its proportions.

The Brazilian cavaquinho is usually tuned in D-G-B-D, from bass to treble, and is widely used in choro and samba, but for its brilliant sound it is an instrument made for celebration and joy.

Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is one of the reference brands in the traditional construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. It is a family business, which follows the method of construction started by the master Joaquim José Machado, more than 100 years ago. His grandchildren, the masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, make each instrument as if it were a true work of art, making each piece unique and high quality.

The Artimúsica CV50C is an excellent instrument, made to play samba the whole year, in whatever latitude they are. Made here, but to be heard all over the world.
