Description

Play choro and samba in a high quality Brazilian cavaquinho, with Artimúsica's CV51C. Made in Portugal but with a tropical spirit.

The Brazilian cavaquinho Artimúsica CV51C is a handmade instrument, made with the knowledge and experience of Artimúsica artisans in the construction of cordophones.

Artimúsica CV51C is made with selected woods. The top is in solid cedar, the bottom and sides are in walnut, also solid. The neck is in mahogany and the scale in panga panga, a wood resistant to intensive and prolonged use.

The decoration of Artimúsica CV51C is simple, with great emphasis on the natural appearance of the wood under the glossy finish. The wide mouth is decorated with a discreet motif and the body has a line that accentuates the cut. The sound is very present and defined, calling heat from other latitudes.

The Brazilian cavaquinho is the brother of our traditional cavaquinho, played here and overseas in sambas and choros. Its resonance box is a little bigger and deeper than the Portuguese cavaquinho. Another difference is the fact that the neck has more than 12 frets, allowing for more acute variations.

The Brazilian cavaquinho is usually tuned in Ré-Si-Sol-Ré, from treble to bass, and is widely used in choro and samba, but due to its brilliant sound it is an instrument made for party and joy. For its proportions it looks like a classic miniature guitar.

Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is one of the benchmarks in the artisanal construction of quality traditional Portuguese instruments. It is a family business, which follows the construction method started by master Joaquim José Machado, more than 100 years ago.

His grandchildren, masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, manufacture each instrument as if it were a true work of art, making each piece unique and of high quality.

Artimúsica CV51C is excellent for playing samba, choro and forró, in all latitudes Made in Portugal, for musicians from all over the world.
