Description

The Brazilian cavaquinho Artimúsica CV50S is an instrument with great sound quality and construction, full of  tropical spirit to make everyone samba. Built in Portugal.

It is constructed with selected woods, solid spruce for the top, back and sides in solid walnut. The neck is in mahogany and the fingerboard is in panga panga.

The decoration of the Artimúsica CV50S follows the characteristics of the woods, giving it a natural and organic look. The wide mouth is decorated with a discreet motif and the body has a line that accentuates the cut. The finish can be glossy or matte. The tuning machine are nickel plated.

The soundboard of the Brazilian cavaquinho is slightly larger and deeper than the Portuguese cavaquinho, and the fingerboard is not aligned with the soundboard top. Another difference is that the neck has more than 12 frets. It is very similar to a miniature classical guitar, due to its proportions.

The Brazilian cavaquinho is normally tuned in D-Si-Sol-Ré, from high to low. It is widely used in choro and traditional samba.

Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is one of the leading brands in the artisanal construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. It is a family business, following the construction method started by master Joaquim José Machado, over 100 years ago. His grandsons, the masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, manufacture each instrument as if it were a true work of art, making each piece unique and of high quality.

The Artimúsica CV50S is an excellent instrument, made to play samba all year round, whatever latitude you are in. Built here, but to be heard all over the world.
