Brazilian Cavaquinho APC BRO100 Original
The Brazilian cavaquinho model BRO100 by APC has a solid spruce top and sapelli back and sides. Indispensable instrument in the famous samba parades in the Brazilian carnival, it is also used in 'choro' music. This model follows the original construction with a 30mm wide nut and 950mm body depth.
The APC BRO100 is a cavaquinho with an accent from the other side of the Atlantic to play carnival samba and choro all year round. Made in Portugal.
The APC BRO100 is a cavaquinho that follows the original construction model of the Brazilian cavaquinho. Built with selected woods, the top is in solid spruce. The bottom and sides are in sapelli, the neck is in mahogany and the fingerboard is in black African wood.
The open pore finish that allows the wood to breathe and withstand the sweatiest conditions of carnival performances.
The Brazilian cavaquinho is a descendant of the Portuguese cavaquinho, but larger. The soundboard is a little bigger and deeper than the Portuguese cavaquinho and the fretboard is not aligned with the top.
Another difference is that the neck has more than 12 frets. It generally tunes D-G-B-D, from bass to treble, and is often used in choro, samba and São Paulo congadas.
Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is one of the reference brands in the craft construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. It is a family business, which follows the construction method initiated by master Joaquim José Machado over 100 years ago.
Masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho make each instrument as if it were a true work of art, making each piece unique and of high quality.
The Brazilian cavaquinho APC BRO100 is for musicians looking to have an original instrument made according to tradition to travel musically to the other side of the ocean or to bring a little bit of Brazil to this side.
