Description

The Latin Percussion Whiskey Barrel Tumba M1406WB cajón has a very original half-barrel format, for more defined and explosive rhythms.

The Latin Percussion M1406WB is a cajón with a unique and very versatile style, due to its original half-barrel shape. The materials used give it the necessary resonance and definition for a powerful rhythm with great sound quality.

The body is made of New Zealand pine, very resistant and with soft tones, decorated with rings imitating those of a kite. The front top is in poplar, a lighter and more resistant wood, with great acoustic capacity.

The Latin Percussion M1406WB is a quality cajon that is part of Latin Percussion's Stave® collection. It combines a unique look with an exclusive design: it is shaped like a mini conga with rims that resemble a whiskey pipe, providing a great sound and an original look. The rounded belly and smaller-area top provide incredible sonic versatility, from more defined slap tones to greater bass resonance.

The cajón is an instrument widely used in flamenco and Latin American music. Coming from South America, its origins are African: it was created by slaves taken to Latin America, having taken root in Peru, where it is considered Cultural Heritage of the Nation. Paco de Lucia was one of the musicians who introduced this instrument to flamenco, becoming such an integral part of its modern sound that it seems that it has always been part of this musical style.

Latin Percussion is an American brand, which emerged in the 60s to fill the lack of Cuban percussion instruments in the United States, due to the trade embargo imposed by Washington at the time.

Latin Percussion instruments started to set the pace in Latin Jazz bands of the time, but quickly were used by musicians in many styles, being today one of the most prestigious brands of percussion instruments in the industry and the favorite of some of the most popular musicians in the last decades.

The Latin Percussion M1406WB is a quality cajon that exceeds the expectations of the percussionists who play it.
