Cavaquinho APC Laser Engraved Hand Painted
This APC cavaquinho has round mouth and is made in spruce and sapelly. The laser-engraved decoration and the painting by hand give it a very original look. In addition to a musical instrument, this cavaquinho is a beautiful decorative piece.
Because it is a predominantly harmonic instrument, the cavaquinho is used in Portuguese folklore to accompany the voice, but it is also played along with traditional instruments such as viola, fiddle, reco-reco, among others. The traditional tuning of the cavaquinho is D - B - G - G.
Widely used in traditional Portuguese music, as in the Mouth Whirlwinds, it has found space in other musical genres that benefit from its bright and very lively sound.
António Pinto Carvalho, the founder of APC, began to learn the art of building guitars and cavaquinhos, by the hand of his grandfather, only 10 years old.
In 1976 he created the APC, specializing in the construction of chromaphones. Nowadays it is the largest national company in the industry, with about 50 employees, who give authenticity and a personal touch to each instrument, manufactured with the most advanced construction technology, for greater precision and rigor. Modernity and tradition are the key of this company that proudly promotes the Portuguese cultural tradition.
