The Mollenhauer 1295 Prima Alto has eight holes, arranged in the baroque fingering system and is tuned in A (442Hz), with a range from F1 to C4 (F1 to C4).

The last two holes are double, as is common on most modern Baroque recorders. This feature allows musicians to move up a half step or access a minor third more easily, a technique that was previously possible by partially covering the corresponding hole.
