The bass guitar is an instrument that can be uncomfortable to play at a younger age, for musicians with smaller hands or even for guitarists used to smaller necks. The Ibanez TMB30 is the practical, comfortable and stylish solution for all these situations.
With a design inspired by the Talman instrument series, created by Ibanez in the 90s and inspired by the vintage models that populated the alternative music stages of the time, the TMB30 has an unmistakable and elegant look.
Constructed of poplar wood, the body of the Ibanez TMB30 has an ergonomic cutout, and is not too heavy. It features two passive pickups, an off-line Dynamix P and a Dynamix J in the bridge, which can be controlled independently, allowing for greater sonic versatility and a very rich, vintage tone.
The neck is in maple, with a 20-fret fingerboard in jatoba, a species native to South and Central America, and is smaller than what we are used to seeing on bass guitars. The Ibanez TMB30's fingerboard measures 762mm, or 30 inches, while the usual measurement for a long-scale bass is around 34 inches. The neck profile is rounded, which, together with its dimensions, make it very comfortable to play.
This set of woods is complemented by hardware that further reinforces its vintage style, and which contributes to a solid sound. Ibanez's B10 bridge allows for precise and stable tuning.
Ibanez is one of the most popular brands in the music industry, with iconic models and a universe of exceptional musicians who use their products to take their music further. Designed in Japan, Ibanez instruments became very popular in western markets thanks to their original design and innovative sound in the 1980s and 1990s, particularly in the world of rock and metal.
The Ibanez TMB30 follows this tradition, with all the necessary features to start learning electric bass, playing comfortably and as a solution for those who are not bassists but need more bass in their life, whether on stage or to play in the studio.
