To meet all requirements, Fender built the 140SCE in materials of great acoustic quality that offer a very wide, dynamic and robust frequency response. The top is in solid spruce and the back and sides are in ovangkol, an African wood similar to rosewood. The top is supported by X-shaped beams, also in spruce, cut to the shape of the body.

The neck is mahogany with a rounded finish for comfort and the walnut fingerboard features 20 vintage-sized frets. The cutaway cutaway allows them to easily reach the highest notes, which makes the Fender CD-140SCE a very interesting guitar for those who like to play solos.

The bridge is in walnut and the nut is made of a synthetic material very similar to bone (Graph Tech® NuBone™), offering excellent support and sound definition.

The Fender CD-140SCE has a nice, crisp tone, which is preserved by the Fishman® CD preamp. The controls are the usual Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble, Phase. It also has an integrated tuner. Whether in acoustic or amplified mode, the CD-140SCE has a clear sound with great presence.
