BOSS outdid itself with the RC-5. While all the loop stations have increased in size, BOSS has concentrated the full potential of this musical tool into a full-size pedal that fits perfectly on your pedalboard.

The BOSS RC-5 captures professional quality sound at 44.1Hz, 32-bit AD/DA conversion and 32-bit floating point processing. This means that you don't lose fidelity in the recording and playback of your loops.

Using the RC-5 couldn't be easier and more intuitive. Through the LCD screen you can control the status of the loop while playing, with lighting that changes color to indicate recording, overdub and playback status. Navigate between rhythms, kits, system settings with the multifunctional parameter selector, quickly and easily.

The BOSS RC-5's switch controls all looping functions—record, overdub, play, pause, and undo/redo. But they can have even more control by assigning functions to one or two external footswitches, or an expression pedal for seamless adjustments. The TRS MIDI I/O link allows remote operation from MIDI switchers and foot controllers, plus MIDI synchronization with drum machines and DAWs.

The BOSS RC-5 also provides the rhythm. It can play 57 preset rhythms with the sound of seven different drum kits to suit any musical style. They can even select A/B variations for each rhythm via MIDI. The RC-5's looper module also includes a Reverse function.

The memory of the BOSS RC-5 loop station is incredible. With 99 memory slots for storing loops as they are created, the BOSS RC-5 has up to 13 hours of stereo recording so you never run out of space. In addition to the audio, the phrase memory includes the selected rhythm and kit, to be used when selected, allowing a faithful reproduction of the parameters defined in each performance.

Built with modern creatives in mind, the BOSS RC-5 can be connected to a computer via a USB connection for storing and transferring loops. They can turn to the BOSS Tone Studio, the RC5 which thus becomes a reproduction center for learning material and accompanying music.
