Bach's Goldberg BWV 988 Variations are a set of harpsichord variations first published in 1741. This work by Bach is consi dered one of the most important examples of the variation form. After the exhibition of the aria at the beginning of the piece, there are thirty variations followed by the repetition of the aria. This is an issue of Urtext.
