Description

The Artimúsica GP70CCAD is a Portuguese guitar built by hand to play Coimbra fado, cadet size or (¾) for greater portability.

The Artimúsica guitar GP70CCAD is a model of great quality, built by the experienced artisans of Artimúsica, one of the biggest producers of Portuguese traditional instruments.

Manufactured according to the traditional manufacturing processes of these chordphones, the guitar from Coimbra Artimúsica GP70CCAD meets the expectations of knowledgeable guitarists and fans of the style of the student city.

Made with selected materials, the Artimúsica GP70CCAD has a solid linden top, while the base and sides are in walnut, also solid. The combination of these woods gives it a rich tone and a high quality volume, perfect characteristics to be heard in serenades and streets and to hypnotize passersby.

The neck is in mahogany, very comfortable, with panga panga fingerboard, which provides a comfortable touch and high quality. It is also distinguished by having an oval volute, known as “tear”, the element that identifies the Portuguese guitars of Coimbra.

The finishes are discreet, showing great care and attention to detail, which give it a quality that surprises when you look at its affordable price. The Artimúsica GP70CCAD is a model with smaller dimensions, with ¾ of the standard size, being ideal for transporting or for younger musicians who want to get started in the fado tradition of Coimbra.,

The Portuguese fado guitar from Coimbra is different in that it has a larger case than the guitar from Lisbon and a longer scale for the phrasing of ballads from Coimbra. The tuning is a tone below the Lisbon tuning, being Lá Sol Ré Lá Sol Dó, from the high strings to the lower ones.

Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is one of the leading brands in the handcrafted construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. It is a family business, which follows the construction method started by master Joaquim José Machado, over 100 years ago. His grandchildren, the masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, manufacture each instrument as if it were a real work of art, making each piece unique, of high quality, and full of tradition.

Made for guitarists who want a quality instrument that respects the tradition of one of the most traditional musical styles in Portugal, the Artimúsica GP70CCAD is a fado guitar from Coimbra with the original sound and spirit of this musical genre.
