Description

The Portuguese guitar Artimúsica GP71C is a model built with selected materials to play Coimbra fado with all the emotion.

Those in love with the song of the city of students will find the Artimúsica GP71C a top-rated guitar. Built in Portugal by Artimúsica, one of the most representative brands in the manufacture of high quality traditional chordophones, the Artimúsica GP71C perfectly represents the musical tradition of this very particular form of fado.

The top is in solid spruce, which gives it a distinct tone and aesthetic, with a bright and well-defined timbre. The bottom and sides are in solid walnut.

The neck is in mahogany, with a makassar ebony fretboard, a wood recognized for its distinctive appearance and high resistance, which is also used in higher range instruments.

The decoration of the Artimúsica GP71C is discreet, but distinctive from models from the city of Coimbra. The mouth has a simple decoration, and the binding with two friezes highlights the pear-shaped cut of its body. It features a teardrop-shaped volute, representative of the melancholy of the students, and which distinguishes the fado guitar from Coimbra from other Fado guitar models, namely those from Lisbon.

But there are more differences. The tuning is a tone below the Lisbon tuning, being Lá Sol Ré Lá Sol Dó, from the high strings to the lowest ones.

Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is recognized for the skill and knowledge of its craftsmen, for the choice of selected materials and for the dedication it applies to all instruments. It is a family business, which follows the construction methods initiated by master Joaquim José Machado over 100 years ago. His grandsons, the masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, make each instrument as if it were a true work of art, making each piece unique, of high quality, and full of tradition.

The Portuguese guitar Artimúsica GP71C is a model for graduate students in fado from Coimbra, to play the memories of the best years of their lives.
