The GPSBL Artimúsica doesn't seem like a traditional Lisbon fado guitar model, but the sound couldn't be more faithful to the spirit of this musical style, so appreciated all over the world. Built with the expertise and knowledge of artisans from Artimúsica, one of the most representative companies in the manufacture of traditional acoustic chordphones in Portugal, this model was made according to traditional construction methods.

Solid woods were chosen for the body of Artimúsica GPSBL: the top is in lime, while the bottom and sides are in acacia, which gives it a bright and clear tone, as well as good stability and resistance.

The neck is mahogany, with the fingerboard in panga panga, a very resistant wood and with a very pleasant appearance. At the top of the neck there is a spiral scroll, which identifies the Lisbon fado guitar. The tuning uses the traditional fan.

The decor is original, with a sunburst finish giving it an exotic and very original look. The sound is the traditional one of a Portuguese fado guitar from Lisbon, with good projection, definition and the unique shine of these instruments.

The Portuguese guitar from Lisbon is the smallest of the three traditional fado guitars (there is also the Portuguese guitar from Porto and the Portuguese guitar from Coimbra). It is, of the three, the one with the brightest sound, reinforced by the traditional tuning of Lisbon Fado in B A E B A D, starting from the highest pitches.

Artimúsica is one of the reference brands in the handcrafted construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. Founded in September 1992, it is a family business, which follows the construction method started by master Joaquim José Machado, over 100 years ago.

His grandchildren, the masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, manufacture each instrument as if it were a real work of art, making each piece unique, of high quality, and full of tradition.
