The Thomastik Dominant 135 are manufactured in Austria by one of the largest producers of violin strings in the world. Thomastik-Infeld was born in 1919 from the collaboration of a luthier, Dr. Franz Thomastik, with an engineer, Otto Infeld. The two have developed research into the best materials for making strings for different instruments. After the death of the two mentors of the brand, the company is in the hands of the Infeld family that has led to the worldwide leadership of the market for musical instruments.
 
Tradition, coupled with the technological development they have always promoted in the manufacture of their products, has made Thomastik strings, and particularly the strings, the favorite of violinists like Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman.
