This instrument is carved from quality woods with good acoustic properties. The top is in solid spruce, the bottom and sides are in maple, the same wood from which the arm is made.

The fretboard is in ebony which gives it a classic look and greater resistance. The pegs are in rosewood, a noble wood, originally from South America. The Stentor II 12" SH Student viola is finished in a medium brown lacquer for a classic, natural look.

The quality of construction of the bow was also not neglected, having been designed for students, the walnut is made of ebony.

The viola de arco emerged at the end of the 14th century, and was one of the string instruments that developed at the time, and which resulted in the violin family. The viola is tuned a fifth lower than the violin (C3 G3 D4 A4).
